Max Planck Indian Partner Groups and Max Planck-India Mobility Grants

for Junior scientists/postdoc and junior faculty

The Max Planck Society provides specific strategic measures to boost its collaboration with India by means of Max Planck Partner Groups and Max Planck-India Mobility Grants.

Max Planck Partner Groups support collaboration between Max-Planck Institutes and former foreign guest scientists who have returned to their home country in target research areas which are scientifically promising and innovative.

The German House for Research and Innovation - DWIH New Delhi organised “Info-sessions on German Higher Education and Research Opportunities” in Trivandrum & Kochi from 10th to 13th February 2016. The 4-day event acted as a gateway through which Higher Education & Research Institutions from Germany offered information about their courses and provided a broad overview of the scope and role of their respective organisations in promoting science and research in Germany. At the same time, the representatives of these institutions availed the opportunity to interact with faculty members and prospective students and addressed their queries to enable them to make the best possible decisions about their research careers.

In cooperation with the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay (IITB), the German House for Research and Innovation - DWIH New Delhi organized an Interactive-Session titled “Opportunities of Indo-German Academic and Research Cooperation” on 23rd January 2016 at the Industrial Research and Consultancy Centre (IRCC) of IITB Campus in Mumbai.

The German House for Research and Innovation – DWIH New Delhi organized a workshop on “Need of Sustainable Cities” during the ''Stuttgart meets Mumbai'' intercultural get-together and wine festival at Taj Lands End, Mumbai held on 22nd and 23rd January 2016.

Professor Dr. Dr. h. c. mult. Jörg Hacker, President, German National Academy of Sciences Leopoldina presented a lecture on the topic “Science and Society – Infectious Diseases as an Example” on 4th February 2016 at the German House, New Delhi. The lecture was conducted under the banner of Science Circle Lecture series and was jointly organized by the German House for Research and Innovation - DWIH New Delhi, the Embassy of Federal Republic of Germany in India and the German National Academy of Sciences – Leopoldina.

The International Max Planck Research School on the Social and Political Constitution of the Economy (IMPRS-SPCE) is a joint international PhD Program of theMax Planck Institute for the Study of Societies (MPIfG) and the Faculty of Management, Economics and Social Sciences of the University of Cologne
 
Research explores the relationship between the modern economy and its social and political foundations. Building on a long tradition in sociology and political science, the school aims to combine and develop the approaches of new economic sociology, comparative political economy, organization studies and history.
 
The curriculum combines sociology, political science and organization studies, focussing especially on economic sociology and comparative political economy.

The focus of this three-day colloquium will be on ‘Writing Theatre Histories’ in global, national, regional and local contexts. It is a joint cooperation between the School of Arts and Aesthetics at JNU and the Department of Theatre at the University of Cologne. 

A team of 9 staff / and students from University of Cologne are participating in this event.
