Science Tour “Research in Germany” 2016: City of the Future - Research for Sustainable Urban Development
31 January – 6 February 2016

Are you an international scientist involved in and curious about the future of urban development and so called smart cities?
Discover more about research into cities of the future by taking a tour of cutting-edge research facilities here in Germany.

The tour, organised by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) will provide a unique insight into innovative research activities in German universities, research institutes and industry.

The German House for Research and Innovation - DWIH New Delhi organised “DWIH Horizon:  Art Meets Science” exhibition in Kolkata from 10th to 15th March, 2015. The weeklong event included a Higher Education and Research Fair (10th & 11th March) as well as a Photo Exhibition (10th to 15th March) displaying a cultural highlight combined with ample first-hand information on research and innovation in Germany.

The weeklong event included a Higher Education and Research Fair (21st & 22nd February) as well as a Photo Exhibition (21st – 26th February) to capture the essence of Art and Science under one roof.

Kolkata Science City hosted the final leg of The Excellence on Tour Road Show organized by DWIH New Delhi in 2013-14. The event, moderated by R.J. Mir from Radio Mirchi, Kolkata, was inaugurated on 22.3.2014 by the German Consul General in Kolkata, Mr. Rainer Schmiedchen, the Director of IISER Kolkata, Prof. Dr. R. N. Mukherjee, the Director of the Max Planck Institute for Solar System Research in Göttingen, Prof. Dr. Laurent Gizon, Deputy Director General, BMBF, Mr. Maximilian Metzger and DFG Vice President Prof. Dr. Dorothea Wagner, followed by a “Vote of Thanks” of Dr. Jörg Schneider, Head of Division International Cooperation, DFG.

After the successful signing of Memorandum of Understanding between University of Cologne and Jawaharlal Nehru University on 14th February 2014, JNU has become the preferred Global Partner University from India of UoC. This shall open joint academic activities in all possible field of study which are common in both the universities.

Amit Pasricha and Axel Michaels received the German Photo Book Prize 2014 in Silver for their work, ‘Heiliges Indien’ (Holy India). The German Photo Book Prize (Deutscher Fotobuchpreis) is awarded by the Association of German Book Publishers (Börsenverein des Deutschen Buchhandels) and the awarded titles are displayed at international conventions in Paris, Buenos Aires, Abu Dhabi, Warsaw, Sao Paulo, Bangkok, Istanbul, New Delhi, Beijing and Moscow.
